Legend foretells that a great king would one day unify all of Hawaii. King Kamehameha from the island of Hawaii would be that king. Through a series of battles, King Kamehameha takes control of Hawaii, Maui, Lanai, Molokai and Oahu. In 1810 King Kamehameha signs a treaty with the King of Kauai. War between the islands ceases. The unified nation of Hawaii is born. Today, Hawaii is known worldwide for one of the most desirable places to live and work.
