Each issue I appreciate the opportunity to speak with you about the treasures that will be explored and discovered on the pages of Pacific Luxury Living™ ; however, this isn’t a standard edition. While we live each day enjoying the beauty of The Islands and the luxury of our comfortable accommodations, the world around us is changing. Although Hawaii is isolated, the delicate eco-system is easily affected by distant changes and we are reminded that life, and the structures that we cherish, are temporary. When a catastrophic event occurs such as the devastating natural disaster in Japan, it creates the opportunity to reevaluate and reprioritize our lives. Suddenly the beautiful luxuries that we work so hard to surround ourselves with, seem insignificant and the importance of ohana is magnified. These unexpected tragedies serve to open our hearts to the people who are affected and help make caring for the human race, the planet, and our loved ones the ultimate goal. While the Luxury Home Magazine® ohana knows and appreciates the importance of creating a warm and comforting nest for our day to day lives, we also recognize that it in times like this it is no longer a priority.
